O2 is hiring

March 14, 2023

O2 Landscapes is currently looking for a new member of our team. The position is primarily as a landscape architect/designer, although our research-driven approach (whether in respect to the nature of materials/forms or planting design) suits someone with a developed interest in plants and processes of making.

Our studio is based at the foot of the Waitakeres (in Auckland), with an experimental garden attached to the studio (and space for prototyping as part of our design process). We work in AutoCAD, with standard publishing software for the presentation of design work, and applicants should have strong digital capabilities. Hand sketching is a design tool on which we place considerable value.

Within our working environment, adhering to collective design processes is an important quality, and applicants should demonstrate a desire to collaborate well with colleagues.

We work throughout the country, providing opportunities for looking into local ecosystems and built forms, although most work is situated within or near Auckland. Projects range from compact urban sites to large-scale commercial sites and land restoration. A point of difference with our approach is the amount of time devoted to design development and research, and we favour working together with people who show an active interest in nature, the arts and architecture.
